what makes us different
When David Kono was 15 years old, he had a dream. He wanted to start a used car dealership where he hoped to sell cars to his friends for less than they would pay anywhere else, while making a little money himself – at least more than the $9 per hour he was making at a local golf course.
Today, Route 6 Auto is a fulfillment of that dream. Until David turns 18, his dad is along for the ride.

a simplified model:
1. Super-low overhead. Route 6 owns the dealership property (a little parcel at the end of Main Street in the super-cool former mining town of Eureka, Utah) and its dealership “office” (an 8’ x 20’ shipping container).
2. minimal inventory and no document fees. Generally, Route 6 will carry no inventory. Instead, buyers see what Route 6 can buy at massive dealer-only auto auctions, choose what type of car they want, decide how much they are willing to pay for it, and Route 6 bids on pre-selected cars with the competitive advantage of not having to cover the types of costs and fees that most dealers have.
3. Less time, less pressure. Route 6 Auto eliminates full-day pressure buying experiences, paying unnecessary fees and being upsold on products you'll never use.
4. A less expensive car. The same cars that dealers are buying at auctions and re-selling on their lots but without normal dealer mark-ups. Even when Route 6 carries a vehicle or two in its inventory, they will be vehicles that were purchased at a deep discount and Route 6 will pass along the savings to you.
